Your support matters, the supervisors take the LEATHER District more seriously when people turn out.

This will be a visible marker of city support for our District!

It helps to have lots of the Cultural District’s friends there to show their support. The hearing is set for this Monday, November 13, at 1:30 p.m., in Room 250 of SF City Hall, before the Land Use and Transportation Committee.

Our item is first on the agenda, so please arrive by 1:30 to ensure you’ll be heard.  Remote participation is not available.

UPDATE:

We Need Your Input

The LEATHER & LGBTQ Cultural District needs your voice!

We’re embarking on an exciting mission to compile a comprehensive Cultural History, Housing, and Economic Sustainability Strategies (CHHESS) report to guide the City of San Francisco to better support the Bay Area Leather and LGBTQ communities.

Your input is pivotal in this endeavor. We are creating an “Asset Map” to highlight the cherished spaces and practices that hold personal significance in your Leather and Queer culture journey in the Bay Area. Your insights will ensure our report reflects the cultural assets that matter most to you and our diverse community.

Rest assured, your responses are confidential and completely anonymous. Your contact information will remain private.

Please don’t miss the opportunity to have your say. Complete the survey, at https://bit.ly/LeatherSurvey, by 11/6/23, and let’s shape a flourishing Leather future together.

District 10 Pride Ride

African American Art & Cultural District has invited the members and friends of the LEATHER & LGBTQ Cultural District to attend their District 10 Pride Ride on Saturday, October 28!

Meet up at 11 am at Crane Cove Park (19th Street and Illinois).  Ride out at 12 noon and end at the after party at Gralla Wines (2022 Lane Street).

If you have a motorcycle, bicycle or scooter, join them for the Fourth Annual D10 Pride Ride to celebrate LGBTQ+ History Month and the trailblazers who made an out-and-proud event like this possible!

This year, they’re starting at Crane Cove Park in Dogpatch and riding down Third Street to Gratta Wines in Bayview.

They are leaning fully into Halloween weekend so come dressed up in your costumes to enter the chance to win cash prizes! They will also have a Pimp Your Ride station at our decorating table before the ride (11am–12pm).

After the ride, join them for an after-party at Gratta Wines for live music by Los Bahianatos, pizza from Bayview Pasta, raffles for special gifts (20 free pizzas!), drinks, and community.

To ride, register on Eventbrite and please consider donating during checkout.

The first 20 people to register on Eventbrite and check in at the launch site will get a pizza pass, good for one free pizza from Bayview Pasta.
