How we use the information you provide when you become a member of LCD or participate in an online program, i.e. The Golden Dildeaux Awards
We gather contact information when you contribute to LCD online or via mail or when you join at a public event. We use this information to send you mail and email communications about LCD events, campaigns and publications and about local LCD activities and renewing your membership.
LCD also uses information gathered via the LCD website to improve our web-based services. LCD periodically performs statistical analyses of aggregate user behavior and characteristics in order to measure interest in and use of various areas on our website and to use such information to improve on our website’s ability to serve you better.
Cookies: LCD uses “cookies” on some web pages. A cookie is a small piece of data stored on an End User’s hard drive but does not itself contain any personal information. Cookies enhance an End User’s experience by saving the End User from having to verify they are an adult when moving from page to page on the website. You will only receive emails from us if you have a) provided your email address when signing up for membership or b) you have signed up to receive LCD’s newsletters online, through a mailing or brochure, at an event or through some other venue or c) you requested follow up from a feedback form or d) you voted in the Golden Dildeaux Awards.
None of the information you provide via our website (including your email address) is shared with other organizations or parties.
In order to provide you with better and more relevant information, we compile information about email response and website usage. This information helps us to better understand our members’ site usage patterns and also what types of content and information may help improve your user experience on the LCD website.
All emails sent contain a link to unsubscribe.

You can access and correct all your personally identifiable information that we collect online. To protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections. LCD is extremely protective of the information gathered through its membership and websites. Our websites have security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of the information under our control.
When you contribute to LCD online, we use a secure server and encryption to protect your financial and other personal information during transmission. Although we take security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of data, LCD does not guarantee that unauthorized third parties will never defeat measures taken to prevent improper use of your information.
Unfortunately, neither LCD’s network nor data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your information, LCD cannot ensure or warrant the security of member information. Thus, any information transmitted to us is done so at the your own risk. Once we receive Registrant information, we undertake substantial efforts to protect the confidentiality of this information consistent with this Privacy Policy.

Protecting the privacy of children is extremely important to us. The Website is intended for users who are 18 years old or older. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have inadvertently received personally identifiable information from a child under the age of 18, we will delete such information from our records.
