T-Shirt Contest Rules

 T-Shirt Contest – Design Guidelines and Rules 

1. 1. Design Guidelines: 
      • Provide a design inspired by the LEATHER & LGBTQ Cultural District’s mission and work. 
      • Design for the front of a t-shirt,
      • Design for printing on a black t-shirt.  
      • The design should be no larger than 10”x12”, vertical.
      • The design should be gender neutral.
      • The design must include the following:
        • The District’s URL: sflcd.org
        • The year: 2026
        • District Logo in color, with the chain circle at least 2” tall. 
          • Do not alter, modify, or distort the District logo in any way. 
          • Do not obscure any part of the logo. 
          • Do not change the logo’s colors.
          • We will provide the District Logo Files
        • The logo, District URL and year can be adjacent to the main artwork, if desired.
        • We welcome including the artist’s signature 
   2. Entry Submission:
      Participants must submit their designs by
      5:00 pm PST on Friday, March 13, 2026.
      Participants may submit up to two designs.
      All submissions should be provided in a vector based digital format AI, EPS and PDF. Alternatively, a layered Photoshop file (PSD) at 300 dpi with a black background layer that can be turned off will also be accepted.
      Maximum file size is 10 MB
      Entrants must be 18 years or older.
      At the sole discretion of the District, entries deemed to not meet the eligibility criteria will not be considered.
      Entries will be posted on the District website and social media.
   3. Originality and Copyright:
      By entering the contest, participants affirm that their design is original and does not infringe on any existing copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights. The participant warrants that they hold the complete copyright to the submitted design.
   4. Assignment of Rights:
      By submitting a design, the participant agrees to assign all rights, title, and interest in the design, including copyright, to the District.
      The participant will sign any documents necessary to effectuate this transfer of rights upon request by the District.
   5. Judging and Selection:
      Submitted designs will be judged by the LEATHER and LGBTQ Cultural District Arts & Culture Committee.Designs will be screened based on creativity, originality, relevance to the District’s mission, and overall appeal.Prize:
      The winner will receive a grand prize of $200 prize.
      The prize is non-transferable and non-exchangeable.
   6. Announcement:
      The winner will be notified via email by March 23, 2026.
      The winning design, winner’s headshot and bio information may be featured on the District’s website, promotional materials, and social media platforms.
   7. Eligibility:
      The contest is open to individuals who are at least 18 years old and currently reside in the San Francisco Bay Area (i.e. Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma counties.)
      Employees, board members, committee members, and immediate family members of the Leather & LGBTQ Cultural District (“District”) are not eligible to participate.
   8. General Conditions:
      By entering, participants agree to abide by these terms and conditions.
      The District reserves the right to cancel or modify the contest and these terms at its discretion.
   9. Liability:
      The District is not responsible for any lost, late, or misdirected entries or for any technical difficulties that may impede entry submission.
   10. Governing Law:
       This contest is governed by the laws of California.
