The Sisters Of Perpetual Indulgence in conjunction with The Phoenix Rising Initiative present:
Black & Blue & PINK All Over–A SoMa Pink Saturday Event and Fundraiser!
San Francisco is rising back up from the ashes of the pandemic and taking a national lead in getting vaccinated. On Pride weekend, we invite you to join us in celebrating two of our best San Francisco values: giving back to our community, and throwing one hell of a party!
The Sisters’ historic and infamous original Pink Saturday celebration was a takeover of the Castro neighborhood. This time, we’re bringing the fun to SoMa, on Dore Alley next to our beloved Powerhouse bar–which has valiantly fought to remain open and operating throughout most of this challenging past year, providing community gathering space in the face of extreme financial and municipal challenges. The bar will be open and pouring (drinking alcoholic beverages is still restricted to inside the bar and their patio “Pig Pen”), and hosting performances by some of its drag and pole-dance star regulars!
On the Alley, we’ll be featuring the works of local artists and craftspeople, and providing space for mingling (observing whatever current guidelines are for COVID safety). Suggested donation to enter is $20; proceeds will go to The Sisters Of Perpetual Indulgence and to Powerhouse, to help with their accrued back rent.
WHEN: Saturday June 26th, 12 noon to 6pm

About The Sisters Of Perpetual Indulgence:
The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence® are a leading-edge Order of queer and trans nuns. We believe all people have a right to express their unique joy and beauty. Since our first appearance in San Francisco on Easter Sunday, 1979, the Sisters have devoted ourselves to community service, ministry and outreach to those on the edges, and to promoting human rights, respect for diversity and spiritual enlightenment. We use humor and irreverent wit to expose the forces of bigotry, complacency and guilt that chain the human spirit.
About Phoenix Rising Initiative:
We are a coalition of SoMa Queer Cultural Community members, dedicated to encouraging and co-creating a flourishing revival of the historically complex, diverse, and hedonistic nightly scene which has made this nightlife/leather district globally renowned for over half a century.
