Facilitated Discussion A Hit

Thanks to everyone who attended the Leather & LGBTQ Cultural District Facilitated Discussion on Saturday, June 10, 2019.

The discussion was — I think everyone there will agree — a complete success.  We reached clear (in most cases unanimous) agreement on each of the three dozen or so issues we had listed, and developed a stronger-than-ever sense of cohesion and optimism about our Organization’s future.

While there are no formal minutes or video recording of the 8-hour session, you are encouraged to view our contemporaneous notes from the meeting,  here.  (The notes are fragmentary, but have intentionally not been post-edited.)

You may also wish to refer to the original  (3/19/19) draft of the Bylaws, so that you can cross-reference the pages and Articles from the notes.

However a new draft bylaws is now under construction, based on the conclusions we reached at the meeting.  Please watch for those bylaws to be posted here soon.

Also still available for your review:

Again, kudos and thanks to everyone who participated, in person or online.

Logo

As of May 15, 2019, we have a total of 8 designs submitted for consideration.  Here they are:

Option A:Option A

Option B:

Option C:

Option D:

Option E:

Option F:

Options G and H:

Please note that all of these are sample images only.  They are are not accurate, high-resolution renderings, and should NOT be copied or used, even if/when one of them is approved by our group.

Our current plan is to have a straw vote, allowing eveyrone present tovote for as many as they like.  The two that get the most votes will have a run-off, and then there will be a formal yes/no vote to approve an official logo, replacing any previous designs.

Community Interests Survey

The Leather & LGBTQ Cultural District can prioritize many different objectives. Please let us know which ones are most important to you, using the Community Interests Survey at https://forms.gle/aqjEQ8cpNHWrMBhK8.

This is a preliminary, informal survey, just 14 questions long, with room for you to add your own ideas about possible goals and objectives for our group.

Your answers are anonymous. Thanks very much for responding!

Land Use Survey

As you may know, the Land Use Committee of the Leather and LGBTQ Cultural District is charged with organizing and advocating on behalf of our community priorities, both at public hearings and in discussions and negotiations with local project developers and community leaders.

We have created a brief survey, to help us begin to get a sense of where our organization’s members — and our community as a whole — want us to focus some of our efforts.

The survey is not scientific or binding upon the group.  It is intended to gather only general information and preferences, and get us all thinking about how we will deal with future challenges and opportunities..

The survey is anonymous, and will take only a few minutes to complete.  Please go to
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/LCDlanduse2019 and share your thoughts and opinions with us.

Thanks very much.  The survey results will appear on this Web site soon.
