DESCRIPTION:The Transgender District will host “An Evening with Raquel Willis” with critically acclaimed writer and transgender activist\, Raquel Willis\, on Saturday\, March 12th\, 2022 from 4-6pm at PianoFight in San Francisco’s Tenderloin.  \nThe fireside chat also features President of The Transgender District\, Aria Sa’id and both activists will discuss transgender visibility\, violence against Black transgender women\, and finding joy as transgender people of color.  \nSan Francisco\, CA — Raquel Willis – a preeminent transgender thought leader\, acclaimed writer\, activist and media strategist – will join in conversation with political strategist\, co-founder and President of The Transgender District Aria Sa’id in An Evening with Raquel Willis: an in-person event highlighting the state of transgender visibility\, violence against Black transgender women\, and finding joy as transgender people of color.  \nAs seen  in Vogue\, GQ\, TIME Magazine\, Essence Magazine\, The Cut\, and many others- Ms. Willis has been a leading voice in national discourse pertaining to Black + transgender activism over the last few years. Ms. Willis is also noted for her efforts in community organizing for marginalized communities for social change\, non-profit media strategy\, and public speaking while using digital activism as a major tool of resistance and liberation has cemented her as a defining activist of this generation.  \nAn Evening with Raquel Willis will provide the Tenderloin and San Francisco Bay Area residents the opportunity to be a part of a rich dialogue conversation centering the intersectionality of Black + transgender activism\, the importance of preserving Black history and the rise in visibility of transgender stories in media.  \nTickets are $1\, and libations and cocktails are available for purchase at the event.
