The next meeting of our Board of Directors is scheduled for October 16, 2019, from 6 to 8 pm, in Room 204 at the SF LGBT Center, 1800 Market Street, in San Francisco. Community members are welcome to attend as non-voting guests. Please note the special meeting time. The preliminary agenda will be available on this Web site a few days before the meeting.
The SF LGBT Center is fully ADA compliant. Please use public transportation to access the Center. Street parking is limited. The SF LGBT Center is accessible by MUNI J,K,L,M,N or F, as well as bus lines 6,7,61,71. Please be considerate of our neighbors and do not block driveways or park in blue, yellow or white zones.

Prior to the election of the Board of Directors, Community Meetings were held monthly; since the adoption in August 2019 of the Cultural District Bylaws and the election of a Board of Directors, those “Community Meetings” are replaced by twice-a-year “Membership Meetings”. These meetings are open to the public; however voting is limited to Members of the Organization.

The first semi-annual Membership Meeting of the Leather and LGBTQ Cultural District is tentatively set for

from 7 to 9 pm,
at the SF LGBT Center,
1800 Market Street, in San Francisco.

The District has a number of standing Committees hard at work, and your participation is welcome.
If you are currently receiving emails regarding the Leather and LGBTQ Cultural District, you can check on or change your membership on the various Committees, (including the Land Use, Governance and Outreach Committees, as well as the new Nightlife/Entertainment, Business, and Organizations Committees) by using the update your preferences link at the very bottom of any email you receive from us.
If you are NOT receiving our emails, you should fix that by signing up here, and indicating which Committees you are interested in.
You can also express interest in serving on the Nominating Committee, but participation on that Committee will be probably be limited under the District Bylaws, which are still being finalized.

The next Outreach and Events Committee Meeting is set for Tuesday, October 8, 2019, from 7 to 9 p.m., in the back bar of the SF Eagle, 398 12th Street. The meeting is open to anyone 21+, and the space is wheelchair accessible. Our agenda will include:
- Feedback and self-evaluation of recent outreach events
- Planning for marketing / branding project
- Report and discussion of Web site / Customer Relations Management project
- Ideas for upcoming parties and events
There is no need to RSVP to attend, but please contact the committee chair to be placed on the mailing list for future meetings, or for more info.

The Finance Committee could very much use your participation. Special finance and accounting skills are not required — although of course they could be very helpful if you have them. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you have an interest in this aspect of the District’s work.
A new Vision Committee has been created, which will plan public-facing programs, clarify short- and long-term goals, and work towards developing a strategic plan that will eventually reflect the needs and priorities of our diverse community. A meeting date will be announced soon. Please write to the Committee Chair, Bob Brown, to ask to to be placed on the Committee email list, or to discuss further.
Legislative Committee meetings are scheduled when needed.

The principle task of this Committee, as originally constituted, was to draft Bylaws for the organization.
The minutes of their meetings (over a period of 18 months), and the many drafts prepared along the way, are archived and available on request.
The Committee is currently not active, but may be reactivated at any time if needed. Please contact President@sflcd.org for more information.
Over the next few months, more committees will be formed, and plenty of involvement opportunities will be announced. Please like and follow the Cultural District’s Facebook Page, keep an eye on our calendar, drop by our Web site from time to time, and contact us any time with questions, suggestions, or just to keep in touch.
